Designed as a microphone cabinet to show off and organize those expensive mics that always seem to end up all over the studio, this unit also functions as a small dresser or even nightstand.

Beatifully constructed of curly hard rock maple, soft maple, walnut, and padauk the contrasting woods present beautiful contrast and highlight elements of the honest joinery used.

Speaking of… Using dados for the drawer slides and dovetails for the case and drawers means everything here is traditional: no screws were harmed in the construction of this cabinet!

Premium Desktop Slant Rack (Breather)

Custom hardwood construction featuring elegantly detailed joinery styles – box joints, dovetails, chamfered box joints, etc. Each unit is custom made individually until we achieve the right balance of colour and detail. Finished in eith Rubio Monocoat or Danish oil with or without a lacquer top coat, there are no finer racks available at any priice.

Racks are built on spec when we have time or think of something new and interesting to try, otherwise they are built to order. From rough wood to finished build is typically between 2-3 weeks, sometimes faster if shop work is slow. If longer, we will discuss prior to order commitment. As these are custom built, if you’ve got an idea or variation you’d like to discuss, please contact us and we’d be happy to discuss options!

All products are priced without shipping. Shipping costs vary by location but for this rack are typically around $30. We use UPS, FedEx, and USPS for desktop racks depending on pricing and availability.

Marantz 2230b Custom Enclosure (sold)

This custom maple enclosure was made for a customer to hold his prized Marantz 2230b receiver. Taking queues from the original manufacturer’s design language, we updated with built-in ventilation rather than the metal grate that Marantz attached. Duplicating the original front profile including an inset for the face plate provided the customer with a nod to the original design while fitting in with the more modern aesthetic of his other equipment.

Epoxy resin river desktop rack

Hard maple and black pearlescent epoxy were used to create this unique 2U rack. Utilizing butt joints with purple heard splines running front to back for additional strength and aesthetics, this case is strong and looks great.

Featuring a hand-rubbed Rubio Monocoat wax/oil finish, screwed on rubber feet for stability and protection, and standard 10/32 tapped rack rails.

Maple and Red Grandis Pedal Board

Made of solid hardwood – no screws or nails – this pedal board is a great medium size board for your studio. With room underneath for your power supply (we recommend the Donner DP-1 as a good fit for this board. This is the same supply we use when creating these boards with a built-in power supply.

Beautiful red grandis side panels with inset maple slats. Spacing provided for power and patch cables. Hold 6-10 pedals depending on size. Height of board easily accommodates a Dunlop Crybaby Wah pedal of similar.

Dimensions: 22″ wide x 13 1/2″ deep. Rear of board is 5″ high, front is 1″. Slots easily accommodate standard 1/4″ audio jacks.

Cutting Board

Hardwood cutting board

Made of walnut, maple, padauk, and purpleheart and finished with three coats of hand-rubbed mineral oil finish. This all natural, zero VOC finish penetrates deep into the wood providing protection against wear and cuts. It is also easy to refinish after a few years of use with some light sanding and re-application of mineral oil.

This 3/4″ board is intended for light use in the kitchen. For heavier duty applications that involve heavy chopping, you’d want something closer to 2″ thick (for truly serious chopping, go with a butcher block if you have the space!).

4U Slant Rack

4u slant rack in solid hardwood (hard maple and walnut). This rack features box-joints to highlight the contrasting maple and walnut woods. Finished with a hand-rubbed wax-oil finish (Rubio Monocoat – pure) and a paste wax top coat for added protection and sheen.

You spend a lot of money on your outboard gear – doesn’t it deserve to be protected? Show off your rack with the finest hardwood racks available. Using hard maple, walnut, red grandis, red oak, and other species, our racks span the range from conservative and elegant single species construction to combination pieces featuring contrasting splines, functional box joints, lock miters, and even epoxy inlays.

Slant racks can provide better visibility on the desktop. In exchange, however, they tend to compromise options for the bottom one or two rack spaces as the angle decreases usable depth for your gear. In 4u configuration, you are limited to just a few inches of depth on the lowest rack space. This is perfect for feed through panels, vent panels, some shallow reverb and patch bay units.
